We are appealing for information following a report that a man had been attacked at a pub in Liverpool.

At around 8.50pm on Friday 26 April we received a report that a man had been slashed to the stomach at the Breeze Pub on Lancaster Street. When officers arrived the man had left the pub before he received any medical treatment for his injuries.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old man from Fazakerley on suspicion of section 18 assault who has since been bailed with conditions.

CCTV and witness enquiries were also carried out in the area at the time of the attack and detectives are now appealing to anyone who saw the incident or knows the victim to contact police.

Detective Inspector Steve Street said: “This was a violent attack on a man who may have been left seriously injured and we are urging him or anyone who may know him and saw the incident to contact us.

“I would also like to reassure the victim that they are not in trouble and any information they give could really support our enquiries and ensure their wellbeing.

“The incident happened during a busy time of the evening where people who were in the pub on Lancaster Street may have seen the attack. If you were inside or near the pub during or shortly after the attack on Friday 26 April and saw what happened please contact police immediately.

“I would also like to reassure residents that our local officers are committed to removing anyone who causes such violence in our community. Information from our community is vital if we are to stop such violent crimes that cause serious harm so please come forward.”
